Av. El Milagro, Maracaibo, VE
According to popular belief, "La Chinita" came to Maracaibo with the waves of the Lake. One day in 1749, a humble woman finished washing her clothes on the lake, when suddenly she saw a sheet of wood floating, which she picked up to use as a cap for her water recipient at home. The next morning while making coffee, she looked at the table and it was shining, as the image of the Virgin of Chiquinquira appeared on the piece of wood; seeing this, the woman started screaming "A miracle! a miracle!". The woman's house was by the shore of the lake, where this avenue now is, and that is why it is called "Avenida el Milagro", which translates to Miracle Avenue.

Really good shot, love it. Anymore light would ruin the effect, best left as-is.

Kev! it's been a while, glad to have you around. Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it.

nice shot of Avenida Milagros.......we lived on it (but further north I believe.....very close to the Hotel Lago)
.....I remember the industrial complex on the other side of the Lago. Boats would ferry workers there all the time (we could see it from our apartment) and the complex would look nice at night..........but I forgot exactly what it did and whether or not it is associated with the oil industry (this being Venezuela that would not be a wild guess)

Lee Thanks for the globe =)
Brenda Thank you!
Tor Ah, yes... Hotel del Lago is further north (not much tho), and the complex on the other side is a petrochemical complex (surprisingly enough uh?). The boats are still there, taking people to the complex... you would be able to see it if it wasn't a night shot, I have another shot similar to this one but during the day, I'll upload it soon. Thanks for stopping by!
Meg, well thank you! glad you like it so much =)
